“Mike came through out the hum, out the blue and pretty much recorded the whole album. That’s big to come in and work with ME! Got my vocals right and he did his thing, he was hungry. That’s pressure to work with me and he did his thing.”

“Shout out to Micah, Engineered By WOLF, because that’s my engineer, my partner in crime brainstorming on how these records have to move…and he’s a genius in his own right and we come up with these grand build-ups for these records…”

Different WOLF.

Micah Wyatt aka “WOLF”, is the founder of Different WOLF. He always refers to himself as a person that helps people create, and that’s what he loves to do! Ever since a kid growing up, he was heavily into sports, focusing mainly on football in high school and college. He was passionate about one day becoming a football coach, but was also intrigued by music, performing arts and film. Growing up watching the show “Making the Band” on MTV, and also seeing behind-the-scenes shows of artists in recording studios, he was always interested in the person in front of the computer that never said anything but was around all these creative people. “At the time, I thought it was the music producer because that was the only other person I had heard of making music with the artist.” He would later find out the person in front of the computer recording was the sound engineer. He had learned this from one of his professors during his second year of college. “I took some kind of music theory class and learned and studied about music from all around the world from different time periods. Most of the other students weren’t into Sebastian Bach or eclectic folk music, but I loved it and I was a super hip-hop head back then.”

A few years, later he would take this new insight about engineering to try to get an internship with studios around the Atlanta, GA area where he was living. Not knowing anything about musicianship or creating music, a few studios (Wonder Root, Back Pack Music Studios and Blue Room Studios) would take a chance on him solely on the passion he had about music. “Basically, I didn’t know anything. What to use? How to use it? Or even where to start? I felt like I could be really good at engineering; I just needed to be taught.” Interning first at Backpack Music, both of the owners (Anthony Navarro and Jon Malmgren), who were also engineers, took Micah under their wings to begin his journey. They gave him books and videos to study and he would come back and ask questions, getting a first-hand experience from them on what to do. At Wonder Root, he would sit in on many recording sessions simply writing down notes to ask Jon and Anthony back at BackPack Studio. A few months went by, and at the top of 2012, Micah ran his first recording engineering session at Wonder Root studio. “It actually went ok. I put a little reverb on the guy’s voice and he was excited!” The next month, he would get accepted as an intern at Blue Room Studios.

Micah worked hard interning and assisting sessions at Blue Room, and by August 2013 he was the studio manager and a full-time engineer. He became a sought after engineer working with artists such as: Jeezy, Big K.R.I.T., Ca$h Out, YFN Lucci, Johnny Cinco, Zip K, Will Hill, Two-9, DJ Scream, Travis Scott, TK Kravitz, Young Scooter, Dj Spinz and many more! While Micah was building a name in the engineering field, he was also exploring different artistic passions such as designing and photography. “I was a late bloomer, but I love making things! I like coming up with different designs, videography, taking pictures and exploring beauty and art in different ways.” He wanted to put all his artistic passions under one umbrella. A best friend of his along with himself called themselves the “Wolfpack.” Playing off that name, he created "Different WOLF” and was also given the nickname “WOLF.” WOLF now works completely independent, working with clients across all genres, while still growing and solidifying his work as an engineer. “I just work on getting better. That’s it!” His vision is to make Different WOLF a respected name in the world of art.
